A Medical Practitioner will ALWAYS be on-site during all treatment procedures. This is to provide you with immediate medical attention and treatment if a complication occurs.
Important things to know BEFORE your Muscle Relaxant procedure:
- Please DO NOT take aspirin (disprin, aspalgin) or ibuprofen (brufen, nurofen) for 48 hours before your procedure. These medications thin your blood and will increase your risk of bruising.
- Please take alternative medications to relieve pain or headaches if necessary during this 2 day period such as paracetamol (panadol), panadeine or panadeine forte.
- Omega 3 supplements also thin your blood and will increase your risk of bruising.
However, if you have been prescribed aspirin (cartia) or warfarin by a Medical Practitioner for treatment of a medical condition, PLEASE CONTINUE to take this medication as ordered. Be aware that you will have a higher risk of bruising.
You will be advised not to rub the injected areas for 24 hours following treatment. With this in mind:
- Please DO NOT wear a tight shirt or singlet that pulls on your face when you remove it that night.
- Please DO NOT wear a tight hat, headband or sunglasses that push on your forehead or face.
- Please DO NOT arrive by motorcycle because of the need to pull a helmet over your head and face.
Because these factors may contribute to lid ptosis (drooping eyelid) you may be asked to return at a later date for your procedure. This request is to ensure you receive the best possible results from your treatment.
