Australian cosmetic regulations state that all information related to a regulated health service such as medical products/treatments cannot be directly nor indirectly promoted or advertised. This prohibits naming, nicknaming, hash-tagging products, using generic terms, quotes + prices, and images that show the results of regulated medical products/treatments in any public media.

In addition, regulations prohibit advertising the therapeutic benefits of skin care.

With this in mind, please understand that this information can only be discussed in a private clinic consultation.

Cosmetic Consultations

A consultation is necessary to determine your cosmetic motivations, to assess your health status, and to ensure your safety and suitability for non-surgical cosmetic products/treatments.

When booking a consultation, Suppelle® requires your full name and contact number. An automated computer reminder will be sent the day before your appointment.

Psychology

The appointment reminder will include a link for you to complete a validated psychology assessment. A psychology assessment is a mandatory requirement for all cosmetic consultations prior to treatment, set by the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA).

If you do not pass the psychology assessment, you will be contacted to discuss the context of your results. You may need to see your General Practitioner (GP) for further assessment and/or psychologist referral to discuss your cosmetic pursuit.

If you pass this assessment, you are able to attend your consultation.

The Consultation Process

In order to meet regulatory requirements, a cosmetic consultation at Suppelle® will take approx 45-60 minutes and includes:

  • creating a medical file (Please bring your ID to verify your name and date of birth, medicare card, private health/concession cards, and next of kin or emergency contact details)
  • discussing your psychology assessment results and relevant context
  • conducting health, facial anatomy and skin assessments
  • listening to your concerns and expectations
  • discussing realistic expectations of non-surgical cosmetic treatments
  • exploring appropriate product/treatment options, referring onwards if necessary
  • education of products/treatments
  • viewing clinical photographs (if clients have consented)
  • outlining emergency processes
  • discussing complication management
  • providing quotes (as per regulations quotes can only be given in clinic)
  • the opportunity for you to ask questions
  • the opportunity for you to consider your options (a “cooling off” period)
  • completing informed consent
  • taking baseline clinical photographs using regulatory medical standards, and
  • providing supportive literature as discussed during the consultation.

Medical Practitioner on-site

The consultation appointment includes an appropriately trained, prescribing Medical Practitioner in clinic (face-to-face) to:

  • review the results of your psychology screening,
  • review your health, facial anatomy, and skin assessments
  • assess your safety and suitability for non-surgical cosmetic treatments
